beginning.
This is a time of ending and beginning for me. I ended my job at Columbia University, where I worked for over five years. I began a new one at the New York Sun, finishing my first week this evening. This is not as simple as moving from one office to another or having to set up my direct deposit again. It's an entirely new job with entirely different responsibilities. And an entirely different dress code: I'd been wearing jeans everyday, now I have to look presentable, which is presenting a problem. The matriarchs in my life are thrilled: they've been trying to get me out of jeans and hoodies forever. I say it's part of my young look.
But, I guess we all have to go over to the adult side eventually. Sunday begins the last week of my 20s, and we all know what comes after that. So, another end, another beginning. Not that any major change will happen overnight. Then again, I'm thinking about rocking heels, and that's a pretty big deal, especially since it's been pretty hard to get me out of sneakers until...uh...the first day of my new job.
Soon, we'll all be ringing in the new year. I'm working on my resolutions. And my wardrobe.
