hurray!
I am Time's Man of the Year. And I'd like to thank Squarespace and my loyal 21 readers for making it possible. I also want to send my most sincere congratulations to my fellow recipients.
If you haven't seen, Time named all the people who contribute to the World Wide Web as Man of the Year. Which is pretty much all of us, obviously. I can think of exactly two people who are not 2007's Man of the Year, an honor in its own right. But my grandma is staying up to speed on the whole Internet thing...she asked me what an iPod was the last time I saw her.
It's the only the third instance of the magazine choosing a group of people instead of just one since 1927, when the title was first bestowed. It could be considered a cop-out: the editors couldn't name anyone (RUMSFELD!), so they named everyone. But, it might be an interesting article. People really are getting around since we got the Web in every room of the house. As Time points out, what we do online really makes an impact. On everything.
In 1966, Everyone Under 25 was named Man of the Year. My dad told me he kept that on his resume for years. Maybe I'll update mine. I could talk about my contributions to the World Wide Web.
