Isn't that cool? I'm staying at a friend's because my parents are at my place. It's fancy: two rooms. Not counting the bathroom! And I can see the very top of the tallest building in New York.

We went to see the Alvin Ailey dancers perform tonight. They are amazing. Can you imagine how much work it takes to get 11 women to jump up at the exact same time with the same verve while 11 men leap and throw their arms out in unison with both the women and themselves? And to look like grace personified while doing so? The heart leaps. And that doesn't happen everyday. Well, not unless you're very lucky.

Happy thirtieth birthday to me! Here's to leaps.
