promises, promises.
ONE MONTH TO GO 'TIL RACE DAY! I did say I'd keep my faithful 20 readers updated, and today is a good day for an update.
I just spent ten minutes wiggling into my wetsuit. It's hot, but since it took so long to get on, I figure I should at least wear it while I post. I was like putting on a new pair of tights, but tights made out of rubber and for your whole body. Thank God I got a sleeveless one!
I also picked up my race number for this four mile race I am running on Sunday. I thought a little mid-training event might boost my spirits. I'm still pretty slow and somewhat unsure that I can run the whole thing without stopping. Maybe I'll surprise myself. The triathlon is two miles longer than this, so I hope I can do the four. Two miles, and two other events.
I can totally swim a mile without stopping (much), but we haven't been biking much because the weather has been so bad! I'm not too worried about the biking though, since I'm not too worried about my time. We do need to practice the transition from bike to run though; it's killer on the legs.
Look what my nice friend wrote on her blog about the race: http://www.millwhistle.com/?p=467
And, I've raised $3,204! Only $1,196 to go. If any of you readers have yet to make a donation, please do so on my donation site: http://www.active.com/donate/tntnyc/thegreatleslie.
Okay, I have to get out of this thing. It's hot and itchy! And then maybe I will run. I already swam today (at 6:00am. On my day off, thank you very much), lest I might go try it out!
