no. 1 snowman town

It FINALLY snowed on Friday. I was psyched, until it started raining that is. Most of the snow is gone now, but I've seen soem really classy snowmen! Too bad I was withouot the camera.

Yesterday I saw two snowmen sitting on a bench near Morningside Park all decked out in Happy New Year gear. And, a little further down on the same street, I saw four or five mini-men of snow, obviously made by mini-hands.

A snowman on my block, already melted, sadly, was decorated with red paint buttons and a paperbag hat, tinged with red. Another, nearby, was adorned with plastic holly and real coal eyes. Really, quite fabulous.

I made a snowman a few years ago in the schoolyard where I went to Middle School. It had a lovely fir collar and was very nicely proportioned. Alas, it was knocked down only hours after its creation.

I tried to get my friend Fabio to build a snowman with me on Friday. I even offered to let him wear my mittens. He's not much for the cold though. Next time it snows (if there is a next time), I'm going out with or without company.

wow--sounds cool. would love to see pics of that! I dont' think the snow creations are as sophisticated here in the windy city. we have been having snowy fun though--playing a ton of soccer in the back yard despite the foot of snow. can't wait for spring!
