ohboy.
I just "recommitted" for the NYC triathlon. This is the language of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for when you actually say you WILL do the event, no kidding, and you WILL raise the money, no kidding. Oh. I have a long way to go before I am ready and only 2 and a half months to get there. Oh. (remember: you can give a donation at www.active.com/donate/tntnyc/thegreaterleslie.)
Tomorrow at 6 a.m. I will go to "runner's boot camp" and do sprints in a dirt patch and push-ups in the mud. When I am doing this, I think: "Who is this person you've become? Why are you doing squats in Central Park? Why are you even awake?" This is a very difficult question to answer. Fortunately, I don't have time because I am trying to get through a set of squats that might actually last forever.
My brother says "keep pedaling." And I will...just as soon as I get some air in my bike tires.
