where are my cheerleaders?
V-I-C-T-O-R-Y! V-I-C-T-O-RY! Now everybody get out your pom-poms and start doing some moves. Cartwheels, pyramids, leg kicks. And wear short skirts while you're doing it.
I met my fund-raising goal for the triathlon-YAYAYAYAY! I've raised $4,420 in honor of Mimi Lawson for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It was hard and, as you all know, I've had to harass everyone about a hundred times. In fund-raising, this is called being persistent. Most refer to it as pissing people off with mass e-mails.
My physical training isn't quite so stellar, but I can do all the distances on their own. This weekend I will try putting them all together. And if I have to walk some, I have to walk some. For me, this isn't a race.
I'm already thinking about my next event, the Mini Women's race here in NYC. It's a 10K, which should be a breeze after the triathlon. And there's Canandaigua in September. I've got (read: am working to convince) all my family on board to do this triathlon, or at least be part of of a relay team. And there's no money to raise for this one, so DON"T WORRY. You won't be getting any mass e-mails from me for a while.
Two weeks to go. Wish me luck!
