Most days, I decide what art goes on the business page. I look for stories on the wires (Associated Press, Bloomberg News, etc.), find an illustratable one, and ask the photo department to find an image. Tomorrow's New York Sun business page has a picture of a row of "for sale" signs in San Jose, Calif. with two stories about the housing slump.
I could have run the MGM Mirage, which may be bought by a Dubai company, the UAW union on strike, a variety of vehicles, and Winnie the Pooh. I resisted, but I would have liked to run even a tiny picture of the original, shaggy Pooh on the page.
Last week there was a perfect opportunity to run pictures of Sesame Street muppets. I could have run Super-Grover.
I love Super-Grover.
