feeling the vibrations

It's Obama Day! I'm not in Washington, but I can feel the vibrations from the National Mall, even this far up the Eastern Corridor. I am swollen with pride for Barack Obama. I feel the call to greatness Diane Feinstein mentioned, and my thoughts and well wishes are with our new president as he takes office.

I do not feel such good will to the outgoing president. In fact, I'd like to set up a Dubya Dunking tank. I'd line up all the major league pitchers in the country, but Aretha could throw the first pitch (if she wants). Everyone gets a turn, and those with good aim get to go twice. The water would be pretty cold today, and there's no one who deserves a dunking more than the man, as my father says, who destabilized the world.

Good luck, Barack Obama. Peace be with you.
