death and taxes

I know you can't avoid them, but I'm still annoyed that New York State wants $350 out of me. I suppose it has something to do with my unemployment checks...but shouldn't that keep me from having to pay more taxes? I'm unemployed! Without income! That's why the state is sending me money (for the moment). Does it make sense that I have to send them back money?

I know, I know, it's unavoidable. Deep breath. Move on.

I hear you. It's crazy. Interestingly enough...you can't pay your chicago library fines online. I just racked up a $27 fee. Darn those three books "lost" in the dust under the bed!
