the lost post
I just wrote a very good post to a Web board I belong to and lost it because the site was performing maintenance. I can recreate it of course, but still...that draft is lost to the cyberwind.
I've been mailing envelopes today, which I find a very rewarding task. I always feel relieved after I've pushed the letters through the slot. I've done my part: wrote the letter, signed the check, stamped the envelope. Now it's up to the U.S. Postal Service. It's out of my hands; I just have to wait and see.
I still mail a lot of stuff: bills, checks to the bank, RSVPs. Most of today's mail was business-related, although I did send a piece of fan mail to my soon-to-be-friend, Natalie (She's two. I've heard a lot about her, but I'll finally meet her in a few weeks.). In a few days I will check my bank balances and make sure my accounts have been credited for the sent payments. I started doing some of this online, but, not surprisingly, clicking the "Make Payment" button is not as rewarding as dropping stamped mail off at the Post Office.
